  • Rose & Black is a sustainable painting and decorating company founded by Rosie Russell in 2001. Rosie needed a new website that reflected her commitment to considerate, environmentally friendly decorating using safe materials. She wanted to develop her personal brand by telling her unique story. She also had plans to develop a series of painting and decorating training courses, which she would use her new website to promote.


  • We delved into Rosies’ inspiring journey, learning about her deep commitment to creating environments that are healthy for both people and the planet, and how her experiences with neurodiversity inform her practice. We developed a comprehensive brand strategy, looking at her brand positioning, creating client personas, and thinking carefully about her messaging pillars, as well as how to make sure her website would be easily found by those seeking her unique services.

    Using her existing logo, we developed a new visual language to define her brand; we crafted thoughtful, SEO-optimised copy to authentically tell Rosie’s story and showcase her unique value.

    We were lucky that Rosie had already built an outstanding reputation in her field, and we were able to punctuate the website glowing testimonials that reinforced the claims we made on the site.

  • Rosie’s new website transformed her online presence. From receiving very little traffic on her previous site, she now averages 2–3 online form inquiries per week from clients closely aligned with her services and training courses. Demand was so high that her phone number had to be removed from the site after the first month because the response was so overwhelming!
