Strategy-based graphic designer in Bristol: specialising in transformative website design, branding & print

You’re so busy running your business, you might not have time to think about everything that needs to go into the visual side.

Maybe you have a website you feel embarrassed by - or it looks nice, but it’s just sitting there not getting results.

Maybe your branding doesn’t represent you or how you want to position yourself – your real brand feels like it’s still waiting to be found.

Maybe you don’t know where to start or what to lead with - you just want some clarity!

These are all problems of communication.

Design that
complements your expertise –
while amplifying its impact

But sometimes when you work with graphic designers or agencies, the right process to solve these problems can be missing.

Someone can generate a lot of content for you, but without the right strategy behind it, it doesn’t get the results you need. You can end up with a website that doesn’t convert, and despite spending time and money, you’re left unclear on your brand identity, target audience or key message.

Without the right process behind you, you can miss out on finding out exactly who you are, what sets you apart…. and the true distance you can go with it.

Individual relationship

Extensive experience across website design, branding and marketing means I draw on a large toolkit

– so you can trust me to take care of the visuals of your whole project rather than needing multiple people.

If you message me, I’ll reply quickly, I won’t use jargon, and I’ll be honest with you about what I think your business needs. I also won’t stop until I get your visuals right.

Because my pricing is tiered, you can choose the package that’s right for your budget - you’re not just stuck with a solo DIY approach or a vastly expensive studio.

Nicola at Ripples and Waves design is my go to graphic designer, having produced excellent design and assets (logos, branding, website, leaflets and lots more), for my research projects and my new business.

I love being able to relax sending requests her way because I can trust the work will come back on brief at high quality. Thorough, thoughtful, reliable and conscientious, Nicola is a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended!

How I work

I know it’s not possible to design anything until I’ve done a lot of listening and research. YOU know your business – anyone working with you who doesn’t mine that resource is not making use of what’s right in front of them.

Surface vs. depth

I use a tried-and-tested explorative process to get to the heart of your business, your goals and what you need.

Something I often hear from clients is, “Who I was with before never did any of this – and they ended up getting it wrong.”

The right strategy finds you. Who you are, what differentiates you, your business’s tone and voice, your customers and their language. When all of that’s in place, it’s clear what you need to communicate and how.

That’s when things begin to flow – and when they do, you can feel the difference: there’s an energy behind them. Clarity brings momentum – and what was a ripple can become a wave!

What this gives you

I see it time and time again with my clients. As a result of the right process, you don’t just get the right design. You also get clarity - on who you are, your direction, and how to talk about what you do. Your customers get a stronger experience, but so does your own team (even if that’s just you!)

The same values start running throughout, inside and outside. This brings fresh energy and excitement about what you’re doing

 – it gives you the momentum that’s been missing.
